Keith Clupper

Keith Clupper is a native of Hendersonville, TN and graduated from White House High School.  He attended the University of Tennessee, Knoxville where he studied under the direction of Dr. WJ Julian and trombone professor Don Hough.  There he received a B.S. in Music Education in 1993 and Masters Degree in Curriculum and Instruction in 1997.  Mr. Clupper also earned his Ed.S. in Instructional Leadership from Tennessee Technological University.  He has taught in schools in the East Tennessee area including Harriman High School, Lenoir City High School, Karns High School, Hardin Valley Academy and was named Director of Bands at Farragut High School in June, 2011.  Mr. Clupper is a member of the East Tennessee School Band and Orchestra Association, the Tennessee Music Educators’ Association, the Music Educators’ National Conference, Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia, and Phi Beta Mu. 

The programs Mr. Clupper has had the pleasure of working with have consistently received superior ratings on stage and on the field and he has been the recipient of the National Band Association’s Citation of Excellence Award.  Recent ensembles have also been active participants at Bands of America Regional Championships, Winter Guard International Regionals and World Championships.  Mr. Clupper also serves as a consultant, clinician and adjudicator in the Southeast.

Michelle Lewis

Michelle Lewis is a native of Knoxville, TN, where she attended Halls High School. She attended the University of Tennessee, Knoxville where she received her Bachelors of Music in Education in 2000. Ms. Lewis began her teaching career at West Valley Middle School where she taught for three years. During this time she assisted with the Farragut Marching Band in an after school capacity. In 2003, Ms. Lewis became an Assistant Director of Bands at Farragut High School. Her responsibilities include working with the Marching Band and conducting the Farragut High School Concert Band. Ms. Lewis is a member of the East Tennessee School Band and Orchestra Association, the Tennessee Music Educators Association, the Music Educators National Conference, the National Band Association, and the Tennessee Bandmasters Association. Ms. Lewis has served as Secretary for the East Tennessee School Band and Orchestra Association for the years 2004-2008.

Ron Rogers, Head Band Director 1989-2011

Ronald E. Rogers is a native of Corryton, TN, where he attended Gibbs High School. He attended the University of Tennessee at Knoxville where he received his formal musical training and graduated with a B.S. in Music Education in 1984. He began his teaching career at Rutledge High School where he served as Assistant Director. In 1985, he was appointed Band Director at Doyle High School in Knoxville. Mr. Rogers became Director of Bands at Farragut High School in the fall of 1989 where he directs the Symphonic Band, Wind Ensemble, 300-member Marching Admirals, and oversees all band activities. While at Farragut, Mr. Roger's bands have represented Knox County Schools in both national and international events. In 1993, the Farragut High School Symphonic Band was the only high school band selected to perform at the state music educator's convention. In 1994, the Farragut High Symphonic Band was one of only three bands from the entire United States selected to perform at the National Band Association's Bi-Annual Convention. In 1997, the Farragut High School Symphonic Band became the first band and only band from the state of Tennessee selected to perform at the prestigious Bands of America National Concert Festival. The 2000 Farragut High School Symphonic Band was the Tennessee Bandmasters Association’s featured group at the state music educators convention. From 1990 through 1994, Mr. Rogers served two terms as President of the East Tennessee School Band & Orchestra Association. He will once again serve as president of this prestigious organization beginning in 2004. He currently serves on the board of control for the Tennessee Music Educator's Association. Mr. Rogers has also served as president of the Tennessee Secondary Schools Band Director's Association. He was selected teacher of the year for Farragut High School in 1992-93 and was a guest clinician for the Tennessee Governor's School for the Performing Arts Wind Ensemble during the summer of 1993. Mr. Rogers was a finalist for the Tennessee Humanities Teacher of the Year in 1996, and has twice been the recipient of the National Band Association's Citation of Excellence (1994 and 1997). From 1994 to 1996, Mr. Rogers served as the Tennessee State Chair for the National Band Association. Mr. Rogers' professional affiliations include ETSB&OA, TMEA, Tennessee Bandmaster's Association, NBA, MENC, Knox County Educator's Association, Tennessee Educator's Association, and the National Educator's Association. Mr. Rogers is an elected member of Phi Beta and has served as president of the Tennessee chapter. Mr. Rogers remains very active throughout the year as an adjudicator and clinician throughout the Southeast.
